Salo

Pier Paolo Pasolini's Salo or 120 Days of Sodom was recently rebanned in Australia. This film is legal in France, Germany, Sweden, and other countries (according to the Internet Movie Database) and is not only now legal in Britain, but screened uncut on free-to-air television in January 2002! Salo can be purchased online from pretty much anywhere, on video or DVD — Amazon.com (NTSC) or Amazon.co.uk.

The point of this is to show that Australia's censorship system is on the harsher side amongst comparable countries, not to encourage you to buy your own copy. If you do want to buy a copy, I urge you to read carefully the Customs Act and the relevant Censorship Acts of your state first. (It is not impossible that I have committed an offence merely by publishing the links above, under various "advertising" clauses in state censorship laws.)
