My Olympus E-system equipment list:
lenses and accessories
The camera was just the first step... So far I've bought (chronologically):
- Olympus E1, Digital Zuiko 14-54mm f/2.8-3.5 lens
& FL-20 flash(Arlington Camera) - a 67mm UV filter - Hoya Super Pro 1 HMC (spotlight@ebay)
trading a tiny bit of light for peace of mind about the lens
- a 1GB Compact Flash card - Sandisk Ultra II (aussiememory@ebay)
noticeably better performance than my older cards
- two spare batteries - "PowerSmart" generic (oz_deal@ebay, wqtallup@ebay)
- a 67mm circular polarizer - Hoya Super HMC ultra thin (w.w.photo@ebay)
- a second battery charger, usable in a car - generic (oz_deal@ebay)
mostly so I can have one charger at home and one at Camilla's
- a case - Lowe Pro TLZ 20 (Fletchers Photographic)
a reasonable fit for the E-1 plus 14-54 or 40-150 lenses, with the FL-20 flash fitting into dead space
the Sigma 55-200mm f/4-5.6 lens (Arlington Camera)an ok lens, but I sold this after I bought the 40-150- RM-1 infrared remote (Arlington Camera)
- a Velbon Ultra Maxi SF tripod (B&H)
portable, and usable as low as 15cm
- Digital Zuiko 50mm f/2.0 macro lens and EX-25 extension tube (Arlington Camera)
after being inspired by reading Macrophotography
- a 52mm UV filter - Hoya Super Pro 1 HMC (w.w.photo@ebay) - and a 52mm to 67mm step up ring (heavystar@ebay)
- an NiMH charger and 4 batteries (fptpowerlink@ebay)
for the FL-20 flash
- a 2GB Compact Flash card - Sandisk Ultra II (sazzbear@ebay)
- 1N and LC lens cases (Fletchers)
the 1N holds the 14-54 or 40-150, the LC holds the 50mm
- a Lowe Pro Nova 2AW bag
for when I want to carry everything around
- Digital Zuiko 40-150mm f/3.5-4.5 lens (G+V imaging)
just in time for my trip to Mongolia
- EC-14 1.4x teleconverter (Arlington Camera)
- FL-36 flash (Arlington Camera)
my FL-20 died
- Digital Zuiko 50-200mm f/2.8-3.5 ED lens (ebay)
- B+W MRC 67mm UV filter (ebay)
- a 4GB compact flash card - Sandisk Extreme III
Wishlist
- a replacement FL-20 (or a smaller third-party flash)
for light-weight travelling
- a LBH-1 battery holder
allows 3 CR123A batteries to replace a BLM-1
- some kind of portable storage device, perhaps a PD70X
but maybe just buy more compact flash
- Digital Zuiko 11-22mm wide-angle lens
- STF-22 twin flash set
only if I get very keen on macrophotography
- Digital Zuiko 7-14mm ultra wide-angle lens
only if I win the lottery
